Markets open firm on strong Asian cues
Indian markets opened the day on a buoyant note, on strong cues from Asia. The BSE Sensex was up 67 points at 16056, while the NSE Nifty was up 22 points at 9.25 am IST.

Among the shares that gained ground in trading today were Hero Motor Corp, Reliance Infra, Cairn India and Jindal Steel. Among the top losers were Ambuja Cements, ACC, Bajaj Auto and Dr Reddy's Laboratories.

Asia Indices were trading higher today with the Japanese Nikkei up more than 0.52%, Korean Composite up 0.38% and Taiwan weighted up more than 1.5%.

Shares today rallied on renewed hopes of a stimulus from the Federal Reserve and also on hopes that European policymakers and the wider G7 will take decisive steps to address the problems in the Euro Zone.

Analysts are expecting the month of June to remain volatile amidst several data points and the outcome to the Greece elections.
