If you thought that post Steve Jobs, Apple Inc would be nicer to its rival Google, then yesterday's WWDC amply displayed that nothing much has changed. In a move that won't go down well with the Mountain View based search giant, Apple has kicked out Google Maps from its devices.
If that wasn't enough, Apple rubbed salt onto Google's wounds when it announced Facebook integration with its new mobile OS, iOS 6.
With future being mobile and the ubiquity of Apple's devices, the effect on Google would be immeasurable. Google could miss out on mobile advertising and knowing what its users are doing and when, a big blow indeed.
In the recent years, Google's Android platform has risen as the only alternative most people have to Apple's devices. Home grown mapping alternative from Apple is only just an extension to the rivalry both share.
