Walmart likely to stay with Bharti for new Indian retail JV
Bharti Group, which already partners with Walmart to run retail stores 'Best Price' in India, would also stay as the preferred partner for the US based retail giant for its new retail Joint Venture in India as government opens doors of Multi-Brand retail to the Foreign Investors.

Media reports said that US based company may not use 'Walmart' tag in Indian brand, just like it doesn't use it in Japan while quoted Bharti Walmart's CEO and MD, Raj Jain as saying that Walmart has not decided about any brand name for Indian JV.

Jain also said that the size of the stores in India will range between 10,000-60,000 square feet, which is a big change as compared to Walmart's usual stores and would be located within city limits.

The company said that its existing model of opening stores on the outskirts of city where rentals are also low, would not work in India.
