Sensex, Nifty end higher; Tata Global Beverages up 8%
Shares of Tata Global Beverages surged 8.72% as the company confirmed that the first store in India will open in the Horniman Circle area of Mumbai by the end of October 2012.
Shares of UltraTech Cement jumped by nearly 3% to touch a 52-week high on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
However, shares of Kingfisher Airlines dropped 4.95% and touched lower circuit after the SBI-led consortium of lenders turned down the company's Rs 200 crore working loan request.
Among sectoral indices, all the sectors were in the green except Realty which was lower by 0.37%. Auto, Consumer Durables, FMCG were leading the rally.
Among the shares that gained ground in todday's trade were Hindalco, Power Grid Corporation, Tata Motors and Sun Pharma.
Stocks that failed to lure investors were Reliance Infra, DLF, IDFC, HCL Technologies.
