Markets end flat in lacklustre trade
Top gainers in today's trade were Bank of Baroda, HDFC, Dr Reddy's Lab and Reliance Infra.
Among BSE sectors, consumer durables index was lower by 7.76%. The TECk was down by 0.87%, followed by Oil & Gas lower by 0.82% and IT stocks lower by 0.81%.
While the realty index was up by 1.07%, healthcare index was higher by 0.74% and fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) index increased by 0.26%.
Shares of the Cairn India dropped 1.98% after Goldman Sachs downgraded the stock to neutral with a target of Rs 380.
Among the shares that lost ground today were TCS, Cairn India, NTPC and IDFC.
Markets in Europe were seen trading lower after Prime Minister Mario Monti said he will resign.
