Bharti Airtel net profits dip sharply to Rs 284 crores; stock drops
India's largest telecom operator Bharti Airtel has reported a fall in its net profit to Rs 284 crores for Q3 FY 2013, as against Rs 701 crores in the previous quarter ending September 30, 2012. The sharp drop in the net profits is as a result of higher interest costs and forex losses.
Bharti Airtel has reported a net revenues of Rs 20,254 crores for Q3 FY 2013, while operating margins have stood at 30.6 per cent for the same period.
Revenues from its African operations were placed at $1.13 billion, while the net loss from the region was at $ 53 million.
The company had a total use base of 262.3 million as at 31st December 2012. The PAT hit by amortisation, interest costs and forex loss.
The company's net debt stands at $11.7 billion. The Bharti stock was down by 2.47 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
