Days after Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) sought the approval of Supreme Court to arrest Subrata Roy, Sahara Group decided to challenge the market regulator and invited it for a live 60-minute debate on television through newspapers advertisements.
"Enough is Enough", said Sahara in full page newspaper ads this week, escalating its battle with the Sebi.
Sebi has sought the approval of SC to arrest Roy and two other Sahara directors for alleged violation of its norms on fund raising and failing to comply with the order of refunding the money.
Sahara Group, however, has argued that it has already repaid most of the investors and the first installment that was deposited with the regulator was itself more than the total liability.
