No show-cause notice to Loop and Unitech: DoT
Ministry of Communication & Information Technology, Department Of Telecommunications (DoT) said that it will not be able to send final show-cause notice to Loop Telecom for termination of licences in 21 circles as well as to Unitech Wireless for Mumbai.

Supreme Court had questioned department of telecommunication for the issuance of show cause notice to Loop telecom for discontinuing its operations in 21 service areas.

According to the legal advisor, there is no need to issue the show-cause notice to Loop and Unitech as it is no longer the licensee and the licences do not subsist.

DoT said that it would charge a penalty of Rs 1100 crore from the Loop Telecom for the alleged violation of licence norms.
