Karnataka govt ties up with GAIL for over 25 CNG stations: Media Reports

State government of Karnataka has tied up with government-backed GAIL to set up 25 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations in Karnataka, said the media reports.

The state government has already formed a 50:50 joint venture with the gas utility major for distribution of the fuel to transportation and other sectors across the state, the report stated.

The proposed CNG stations are expected to receive supplies from Dabhol-Bangalore gas pipeline to the proposed the 700 mw gas-based Bidadi power plant and to the 450 mw Yelahanka plant.

As the pipeline touches the highway at every 100 kilometers, the company is expected to set up stations at those places, keeping in mind the benefit of long-distance buses, the report added.
