Sensex ends flat; L&T crashes on poor numbers
The Sensex ended the day higher by 4 points (provisional), while the Nifty ended the day higher by 2.60 points. L&T ended the day 7 per cent lower, while other infra stocks like Bhel, Siemens also fell after L&T's poor numbers.
Reliance Industries which reported numbers on Friday after markets also ended down by around 2 per cent after markets were disappointed with the numbers.
Top Nifty gainers in trade today were HDFC, Bank of Baroda, Indusind Bank and Mahindra and Mahindra.
Nifty losers in trade today were Ambuja Cements, ONGC and Tata Steel, which touched a 52-week low on worries over the performance of the steel sector.
