The market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) is planning to make some guidelines to check manipulative practices taking place through social media in capital markets, which misleads investors.
The move comes at a time when market regulators across the world plan to use social media as platform for spreading awareness among investors and understand overall trend in the market.
A media report cited Sebi as saying that it will still take some time to finalize guidelines on social media because the things are still in very preliminary stage.
