Bharti Infratel Q2 net rises to Rs 277 crores

Bharti Infratel has reported a rise in net profit to Rs 277 crores for the quarter ending Sept 30, 2013 from Rs 248 crores in the corresponding period of last year.

Consolidated revenues at Rs 2,684 Crore grew by 5% over the corresponding period.

The company has a total tower base of 82,476. The stock of the company was down 2.82% on the National Stock Exchange.

Akhil Gupta, Vice Chairman & Managing Director Bharti Infratel Limited, said:

"With regulatory environment in telecom sector showing signs of stabilizing and data revenues witnessing
strong growth, the operators have started focusing on faster roll out of 3G networks. We expect this momentum to increase in coming quarters.

Our business model remains robust and once again demonstrates significant incremental financial gains
from increased sharing of our infrastructure."
