Tata Motors spurts over 3% on strong JLR December sales
Shares of auto giant Tata Motors surged over 3 per cent in early trade on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) after the company reported strong retail sales for the month of December 2013.

The company said that its British subsidiary Jaguar-Land Rover (JLR) has posted 21 per cent year-on-year growth in retail sales at 40,635 units for the month of December 2013, Tata Motors said in a statement. Cheering the news, shares of company gained as much as 3.01 per cent to trade at Rs 379.25 a piece on the BSE.

In a similar fashion, shares of the company advanced 2.90 per cent to Rs 377.65 a piece on National Stock Exchange.
Meanwhile, the broader benchmark Sensex was quoting at 21,058.67, up 300.18 points or 1.45 per cent at 10:15 hours.
