Sensex up 58 points; Tata Motors, Tata Steel support Analysis for Feb 11, 2014

Mirroring positive cues from the global peers, the 30-share benchmark index was trading up by 52 points during the morning trading session. According to the market men, Foreign Institutional Investors (FII) will continue to dictate the trend of the market. FIIs have turned bearish on emerging market stocks following the US Fed"s double taper shock. Moreover, investors will be eying the Q3 earnings numbers of Tata Steel today. The caution among the investors prevailed ahead of the industrial output data due tomorrow.

At 10:20AM BSE SENSEX was at 20392.57, up by 58.3 points or by 0.29 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 6061.95, up by 8.5 points or by 0.14 per cent.

The BSE MIDCAP was at 6358.08, up by 18.14 points or by 0.29 per cent, while the BSE SMLCAP was at 6367.36, up by 27.48 points or by 0.43 per cent.

The BSE Sensex touched an intraday high of 20443.35 and an intraday low of 20353.41, while the NSE Nifty touched an intraday high of 6080.05 and an intraday low of 6053.25.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 374.15,+2.79%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 386.75,+1.11%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 569.15,+1.08%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2116.00,+1.07%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 617.50,+1.00%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 300.40,-2.28%), Cipla Ltd. (Rs. 405.90,-1.86%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 133.50,-1.62%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 105.15,-1.59%), Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 266.85,-1.18%), among others.In BSE, BSE_IT index was at 9245.9 up by 115.52 points or by 1.27%. MindTree Ltd. (Rs. 1566.00,+2.57%), HCL Technologies Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total 1706 shares traded, 917 shares advanced, 706 shares declined, while 83 remained unchanged.
