Mid Market-Sensex decline 73 points, IT major Infosys gained marginally Analysis for Apr 29, 2014

Indian markets continued to trade in negative territory on concerns about Ukraine as US imposed sanctions against some Russian government officials on account of illegal intervention and provocative acts in Ukraine.

IT major Infosys gained over 0.3%.after it announced that its independent director Ann Fudge has conveyed her intention to not seek re-appointment to the board after her term expires in June this year.At 12:13PM BSE SENSEX was at 22558.28 down by 73.33 points or by 0.32 per cent and NSE Nifty was at 6738.3 down by 22.95 points or by 0.34 per cent.

The BSE MIDCAP was at 7463.87 up by 25.38 points or by 0.34 per cent, while the BSE SMLCAP was at 7660.36 up by 43.08 points or by 0.57 per cent.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 534.70,+1.07%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 638.75,+0.56%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 323.00,+0.53%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 3188.90,+0.34%) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2198.00,+0.31%).

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 413.60,-2.89%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 568.60,-2.07%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 1947.15,-1.93%) and Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 139.30,-1.38%), Cipla Ltd. (Rs. 401.40,-1.29%).

Nifty WatchThe top gainers of the NSE Nifty pack were Ambuja Cements Ltd. (Rs. 204.00,+1.95%), Grasim Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2691.45,+1.82%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1855.15,+1.64%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 2080.20,+1.44%) and ACC Ltd. (Rs. 1305.00,+1.39%).

The top losers of the NSE Nifty pack were Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. (Rs. 263.90,-3.56%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 413.25,-2.95%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 567.70,-2.29%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 1945.05,-2.01%) and Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 139.00,-1.59%).
