A quick review of ICICI Lombard Student Medical Insurance
Bajaj Allianz, Tata AIG and ICICI Lombard offer coverages for students travelling abroad. Here is a quick review of ICICI Lombard Student Medical Insurance.
Reasonably good benefits
If you take insurance in India, and travel abroad, probably you could save as much as one third on costs of the insurance premium. ICICI Lombard Student Medical insurance provides coverage up to $500,000, which is a substantial amount.
Interestingly, the company's plans are accepted by most of the foreign universities as a substitute for their compulsory insurance.
ICICI Lombard has partnered with US-based Health Care provider United Health International, to provide better health care benefits and services to be availed when in the US.
The company provides a host of coverages including those for hospitalization and treatment, dental treatment, repatriation of remains, checked-in baggage loss, passport loss, personal accident, personal liability, study interruption and sponsor protection.
Apart from this the policy also offers add-on cover to fulfill the various criteria of universities abroad. It covers treatment for mental and nervous disorders, including alcoholism and drug dependency, in-patient medical expenses related to pregnancy, medical expenses for inter-collegiate sports injuries, cancer screening & mammography examinations and childcare benefits
One needs to read the fine print, while taking the insurance policy. We have just made a mention for example of dental treatment, but, there is always a clause and in this case the limit is just $100. Therefore, it is necessary to read the fine print in every case.
