Sensex in Red, WPI data eyed Analysis for Jun 16, 2014

The Indian markets trading in red, tracking weak Asian cues as escalating violence in Iraq weighed on sentiment. Traders await WPI inflation data due to be released later in the day and the outcome of Federal Reserve's policy meeting on Wednesday for further direction. At 10:46AM BSE SENSEX was at 25160.52 down by 67.65 points or by 0.27 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 7508.9 down by 33.2 points or by 0.44 per cent.

The BSE MIDCAP was at 8839.38 down by 96.55 points or by 1.08 per cent, while the BSE SMLCAP was at 9555.96 down by 118.62 points or by 1.23 per cent.

The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 25268.41 and intraday low of 25076.28, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 7548.6 and intraday low of 7487.55.The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 425.00,+1.97%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2253.55,+1.75%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 3232.15,+1.59%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 2200.00,+1.51%) and Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 533.90,+0.93%).

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1647.00,-2.30%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 430.00,-1.78%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 517.50,-1.57%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1790.95,-1.55%) and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1211.20,-1.49%).

The top gainers of the NSE Nifty pack were GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 423.90,+2.03%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2255.65,+1.90%), Cairn India Ltd. (Rs. 372.00,+1.86%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 2209.35,+1.78%) and Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 3229.45,+1.33%).

The top losers of the NSE Nifty pack were Punjab National Bank (Rs. 929.50,-2.66%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 2696.55,-2.58%), Tata Power Company Ltd. (Rs. 101.25,-2.32%), Bank of Baroda (Rs. 821.50,-2.30%) and Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1647.35,-2.29%).
