Market turns range bound; Infosys up on Q1 nos Analysis for Jul 11, 2014

Amid choppy session of trade, the key domestic benchmark index, Sensex was trading in green, up by 50 points led by buying interest in index heavyweights including TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Hero Moto Corp and Tata Power among others. Tracking the momentum, Nifty was also trading in green, up by 22 points at 7,584.25.Infosys Ltd surged as much as 4.1 per cent in the early trade after country's second largest software exporter, surprised the street with better-than-expected net profit while revenues were in line.

At 10:14AM BSE SENSEX was at 25423.65, up by 50.9 points or by 0.2 per cent, while NSE Nifty was at 7566.75 down by 1points or by 0.01 per cent.

The BSE MIDCAP was at 9169.43, up by 37.25 points or by 0.41 per cent, while the BSE SMLCAP was at 10077.28 up by 57.31 points or by 0.57 per cent.

The BSE Sensex touched an intraday high of 25548.33 and an intraday low of 25304.38, while the NSE Nifty touched an intraday high of 7625.85 and an intraday low of 7549.05.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 744.45,+2.69%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2387.30,+1.68%), Cipla Ltd. (Rs. 442.00,+1.61%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 2685.40,+1.26%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 3333.05,+1.22%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 458.25,-1.59%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1008.90,-1.40%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 173.85,-1.39%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1151.15,-1.18%), State Bank of India (Rs. 2519.90,-1.10%), among others.

Among the sectors, In BSE, BSE Realty index was at 2056.94 up by 47.22 points or by 2.35%. Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 267.10,+5.91%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 258.00,+4.77%), D B Realty Ltd. (Rs. 95.90,+4.35%), Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 355.80,+3.61%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 234.50,+3.12%),.

On the flip side, In BSE, BSE Oil&Gas index was at 10812.72 down by -79.31 points or by -0.73%. GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 458.25,-1.59%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 390.80,-1.46%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 574.70,-1.04%), Cairn India Ltd. (Rs. 350.15,-0.92%), Oil India Ltd. (Rs. 577.00,-0.83%),.The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was positive. On BSE out of total 2042 shares traded, 1092 shares advanced were while 865 shares declined and 85 were unchanged.
