Mid-Session: Sensex down 134 points ; FMCG stocks down 1.25% Analysis for Sep 10, 2014

The markets continue to trade in the negative territory during the afternoon session, led by losses in FMCG stocks followed by Oil & Gas, Capital Goods, IT and Consumer Durables indices. . Among the individual stocks ITC, Infosys, State Bank of India, Mahindra & Mahindra, Reliance Industries.

At 12:24PM BSE SENSEX was at 27131.17 down by -134.15 points or by -0.49 % and then NSE Nifty was at 8112.25 down by -40.7 points or by -0.5 %.

The BSE MIDCAP was at 9895.5 up by 52.13 points or by 0.53 %, while the BSE SMLCAP was at 10983.1 up by 97.12 points or by 0.89 %.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2870, shares advanced were 1706 while 1055 shares declined and 109 were unchanged.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were ITC Ltd. (Rs. 352.30,-1.50%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 3682.00,-1.47%), State Bank of India (Rs. 2535.65,-1.24%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1388.00,-1.18%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1021.45,-1.15%), among others.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Power Company Ltd. (Rs. 90.25,+1.98%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 2355.00,+1.28%), Sesa Sterlite Ltd. (Rs. 285.20,+1.24%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1563.95,+1.05%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 410.00,+0.97%), among others.

Among the thirteen sectoral indices on BSE, BSE Realty index was at 1769.48 up by 10.2 points or by 0.58%. Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 56.80,+2.34%), Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 437.00,+1.66%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 176.65,+1.41%), Unitech Ltd. (Rs. 22.95,+1.32%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 251.70,+0.98%),.
