Sensex, Nifty End Lower; HUL Gains
The Sensex and the Nifty ended the day lower after trading in the negative for most of the day. Recovery in Asian and European markets saw some buying interest in Indian stocks which had dipped sharply in noon trade.The Sensex closed the day lower by 78 points, while the Nifty closed the day lower by 25 points.
Infosys which will declare results on Friday ended the day higher, while TCS continued to grind lower. Shares in Banking stocks did not have a good day in trade with stocks like ICICI Bank, and Punjab National Bank seeing huge selling pressure. HDFC which saw a huge selling pressure on Tuesday ended the day with gains.
Hero Motor Corp and Dr Reddy's saw a drop in their stock prices. Praj Industries gained ground after the company received an order from abroad.
Real estate stocks which have been in the limelight in the last few days continued to see buying support. DLF ended the day with gains.
Meanwhile, markets across Asia ended the day with gains led by gains in the Hong Kong's Hang Sang and the Chinese Shanghai Composite.
