Sensex, Nifty Close at Another record High; ICICI Bank, ITC Support
Benchmark indices gained ground for the eighth straight trading day hitting a new record high once again.
Losers from the Nifty were Dr Reddy's, Coal India, Mahindra and Mahindra and Larsen and Toubro. Shares in Max rallied and hit a 52-week high after the company held a board meeting and had a restructuring exercise.
Shares in Maruti gained ground despite the company's results not meeting expectations. Union Bank on the other hand slumped after its Q3 numbers disappointed the street.
Mid cap stocks also had a good session in trade with notable winners being Apollo Tyres, Hindustan Zinc and Just dial gaining ground.
Shares in Biocon fell after the company's net profits failed to meet expectations. Meanwhile, markets in
Asia ended the day higher while most of Europe was trading with marginal losses.
