Domestic passenger car sales up 3.14% in Jan 2015

The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) reported that the domestic passenger car sales rose 3.14 per cent to 1,69,300 units in January 2015 as compared with 1,64,149 units in the year-ago month.

SIAM also added that the motorcycle sales fell 5.85 per cent to 8,68,507 units in January 2015 against that in January 2014.

The total two-wheeler sales rose 1.07 per cent to 13,27,957 units during the period under review while the sales of commercial vehicles rose 5.30 per cent to 52,481 units in January 2015.

Moreover, vehicle sales across categories reported a rise of 1.66 per cent to 16,50,382 units from 16,23,429 units in January 2014.
