Post-Session: Sensex gains over 350 points Analysis for Jun 10, 2015

The Indian benchmarks closed on a positive note led by a firm rally in the blue chip stocks amid firm Asian cues and a strong rupee. Shares of sugar companies are trading higher after the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved to provide an interest-free loan worth Rs 6,000 crore to the sugar companies. On the sectoral front, all 13 sectors are trading in the positive territory trading higher over 1 per cent barring BSE FMCG index which is trading with marginal gains. Engineering conglomerate L&T is trading higher over 2 per cent on reports stating that the company has created a new unit to cater to smart cities which will allow the business to grow to $1 billion in the span of three to four years. The BSE SENSEX closed at 26840.5, up by 359.25 points or by 1.36 per cent and then NSE Nifty closed at 8124.45, up by 102.05 points or by 1.27 per cent.

The BSE MIDCAP closed at 10270.77, up by 109.52 points or by 1.08 per cent while the BSE SMLCAP closed at 10779.75, up by 117.9 points or by 1.11 per cent.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 251.40,+4.21 per cent), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 563.30,+3.60 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 2253.10,+3.08 per cent), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 905.90,+2.49 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1706.65,+2.37 per cent), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Cipla Ltd. (Rs. 593.45,-0.01 per cent), among others.

The top gainers of the NSE Nifty pack were Cairn India Ltd. (Rs. 184.70,+6.76 per cent), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 251.25,+4.10 per cent), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 562.75,+3.53 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 942.55,+3.42 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 556.30,+2.92 per cent), among others.

The top losers of the NSE Nifty pack were Idea Cellular Ltd. (Rs. 175.50,-1.04 per cent), NMDC Ltd. (Rs. 120.65,-0.98 per cent), Lupin Ltd. (Rs. 1756.00,-0.79 per cent), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 843.90,-0.65 per cent), ACC Ltd. (Rs. 1436.40,-0.33 per cent), among others.

Among the thirteen sectoral indices, IT index was leading the rise and closed at 10805.53 up by 219.74 points or by 2.08 per cent led Lycos Internet Ltd. (Rs. 46.35,+8.80 per cent), SQS India BFSI Ltd. (Rs. 680.75,+5.62 per cent), 3i Infotech Ltd. (Rs. 4.22,+4.98 per cent), Infinite Computer Solutions (India) Ltd. (Rs. 134.00,+4.93 per cent), Mastek Ltd. (Rs. 443.70,+4.45 per cent).

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE, out of total shares traded 2747, shares advanced were 1722 while 911 shares declined and 114 were unchanged.
