The rupee fell sharply to open the week 24 paise lower after worries over a Greece default and exit from the Eurozone left markets anxious.

The rupee was last trading at 63.88 against the US dollar in early trade today at the Interbank Foreign Exchange.

Month end demand for the currency and weak cues across the globe, in which all of the stock markets across the globe fell, on account of worries in Greece weighed on sentiments.

 

Meanwhile, the Sensex was trading a huge 500 points lower and the Nifty was down 141 points in trade. Check currency rates here
