Sensex Opens Higher; Eyes July F&O Expiry
Benchmark indices opened the day higher ahead of F&O expiry for the July series later today. The Sensex was trading with gains of 151 points, while the Nifty gained 41 points at 8414 points as most of the Asian markets were trading with gains. Check Sensex gainers and losers
Shares in Kotak Mahindra Bank were trading higher ahead of results to be declared later today. SUN TV continued to rally for the second day in a row on hopes that the government would not take action against the company on license cancellation.
ITC continued to fall for a second day in a row ahead of its results later today. The stock was down one per cent in early trade. PSU banking stocks which had fallen sharply on Wednesday saw some buying support and were trading marginally higher.
Private sector banking stocks were having a good session with Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, Yes Bank and Kotak among the gainers.
Mid cap stocks were also up in line with the index stocks. Early movers from the space being Concor and J P Associates.
Meanwhile, most of the Asian markets were trading with gains on strong overnight closing in the US.
