The 30-share benchmark index ended the trade at 26656.83 down by 181.31 points or by 0.68 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 8065.80, down by 45.95 points or by 0.57 per cent. 

On the global front, Asian peers ended the day on a negative note. While, European counters were trading in green.

ITC

ITC, reported net profits that lagged estimates with profits at Rs 2,431 crores for the quarter ending Sept 20, 2015 vs Rs 2,425 crores (YoY).

The stock ended the trade at Rs 334, lower by 4.30 per cent on BSE. The stock touched an intra-day low of Rs 331.

Nestle India

Shares of Nestle India  on Friday fell after the company reported a 60 percent decline in standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 30.

The stock ended the trade at Rs 6190, lower by 1.47 per cent on BSE. The stock touched an intra-day low at Rs 6156.

Sun TV Network

Shares of Sun TV Network surged over 9 percent intraday on Friday after the company said that the board of directors meeting will be held on November 5 to consider a proposal to Buy-back the fully paid-up equity Shares of the company.

The company shares ended the trade at Rs 395, higher by 5.21 per cent on BSE. The stock touched an intra-day high at Rs 411.

Glenmark Pharma

Shares of Glenmark Pharma rose after the company posted strong earnings for the September quarter. The tentative approval from the United States Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) for Lacosamide tablets (anti-epileptic drug) by its US subsidiary added to the gains.

The stock ended the trade at Rs 991, higher by 5.01 per cent on BSE. The stock touched an intra-day high  at Rs 1001.
