On the global front, Asian peers ended the day on mixed note. While European counters were trading lower following other markets.

Bharti Infratel

Bharti Infratel rose after the company announced that shares buyback, dividend payment plan. 

The stock ended the day at Rs 373, lower by 0.08 per cent on BSE. It touched an intraday high at Rs 380 during the trade.

NMDC

NMDC fell after the government said it was looking to divest 10 per cent of its stake in the mining company.

The stock ended the day at Rs 99.70, lower by 2.35 per cent on BSE. It touched an intraday low at Rs 99 during the trade.

Wipro

Wipro Ltd fell after the rating agency downgraded the stock to underperform, after ower-than-expected March quarter results.

The stock ended the day at Rs 557, lower by 0.29 per cent on BSE. It touched an intraday low at Rs 555 during the trade.

Hindustan Zinc

Hindustan Zinc (HZL) today fell by nearly 4 per cent after the company reported a 20 per cent decline in total income in the March quarter of the last fiscal.

The stock ended the day at Rs 171, lower by 1.38 per cent on BSE. It touched an intraday low at Rs 167 during the trade.

HDFC Bank

HDFC Bank on Friday reported Q4 results in line with market expectations. The Bank earned a net profit of Rs 3,374.2 crores, an increase of 20.2% over the quarter ended March 31, 2015.

The stock ended the day at Rs 1094, higher by 0.27 per cent on BSE. It touched an intraday high at Rs 1100 during the trade.
