Facebook Inc posted Q2 profit of USD 2.06 billion or USD 0.71 per share from USD 719 million or USD 0.25 per share last year.
Adjusted earnings for the quarter rose to USD 2.82 billion or USD 0.97 per share from USD 1.44 billion or USD 0.50 per share last year.
Revenues for the quarter surged to USD 6.44 billion from USD 4.04 billion last year.
Daily active users rose 17 per cent to 1.13 billion on average for June, while monthly active users increased 15 per cent to 1.71 billion.
Mobile daily users gained about 22 per cent to 1.03 billion on average for June, while mobile monthly users increased 20 per cent to 1.57 billion.
Mobile advertising revenues continue to be dominant contributor to ad revenues as it represented 84 per cent of advertising revenue for the quarter, up from 76 per cent last year. Total advertising revenues surged 63 per cent to USD 6.24 billion.
Total costs and expenses climbed 33 per cent to USD 3.69 billion, as Facebook increased its spending on research and development as well as on marketing.
