Sensex Ends Lower On Special Diwali Trading Session
The Sensex ended the day lower by 11 points, while the Nifty ended the day lower by 21 points. Leading the set of gainers in trade were pharma stocks like Lupin and Cipla.

However, stocks like HDFC and HDFC Bank declined. Trading on this special day is considered as auspicious and there is general buying that is done.

Select midcap stocks ended the day higher with stocks like Century Textiles and Sun TV among the gainers.

Volumes were thin as is always the case on Muhurat Trading day, as there is normally very little or almost no participation from FIIs and domestic institutions. Markets would now be closed for trading on Monday and would open on Tuesday.
