Markets Open Higher Ahead OF US Presidential Poll

The Sensex was up with gains by 48.51 points, while the Nifty rose 14.50 points in trade.

Benchmark indices rallied in trade tracking positive global trend as opinion polls displayed that Hillary Clinton was ahead of Donald Trump.

Most Asian markets rallied on hopes that it would lead to Clinton being voted as the next US President.

The Sensex was up with gains by 48.51 points, while the Nifty rose 14.50 points in trade.

The companies such as BHEL and Tata Communications will be in focus today as they will report their September quarter earnings today.

Tata Motors rose 2% on media reports of an upgrade by a foreign brokerage.

On Monday, ICICI Bank reported a better than estimated Q2 profit even as provisions for bad loans increased amid deteriorating asset quality.

Most Asian markets rose as Americans were set to cast their ballots in the US Presidential election. If Clinton wins, it is expected to bolster the appetite for risky assets.
