Markets Opens Lower Ahead Of Exit Polls
Markets opened lower ahead of exit polls predicting the outcome of the recently concluded state elections.

Markets opened the day lower ahead of the exit polls scheduled for 5.30 pm today, following the elections in some key states, particularly Uttar Pradesh. The Sensex was trading with losses of 58 points at 28,845 points, while the Nifty was trading with losses of 14 points. Leading the set of losers from the Nifty was Dr Reddys, which dropped as much 2 per cent, following 14 observations that the company received from the US FDA for its Vizag plant.
Bhel, ONGC and Hindustan Unilever were the other losers in trade. Bajaj Auto and TCS on the other hand managed to gain ground in trade.
Meanwhile, the rupee opened lower by 11 paise at 66.81 to the US dollar. Check currency rates here
Asian markets were trading mixed with the Shanghai Composite trading flat, as investors digested inflation data in the country.
