FY’ 20 Begins: Mark These Important Dates For Better Financial Planning

To facilitate you in easy and diligent financial planning, such that you don't miss on important dates, here's the financial calendar for the new financial year 2019-20 that commences today. Don't forget to mark these dates on your calendar too, to realis tically achieve your financial goals:

April

"Still in hold of physical listed company shares, get them dematerialized soon.

April 30- Date for submission of declaration of interest income to banks in form 15G,, senior citizens need to make the declaration in Form 15G"

May

"May 7- Akshaya Tritiya considered to auspicious for gold buying. Given the global economic landscape, it is recommended to include gold in one's portfolio atleast 10% and invest in SGBs and other forms and avoid physical gold.

May 31- NRIs need to obtain PAN by this date as PAN is now mandatory for transactions including money transfer, making investments and so on). The value has been pegged at Rs 2.5 lakh or more during financial year 2018-19."

June

"Salaried employees need to keep a tab on the form 16 that provides for TDS deduction by the employer plus break up of their salary for the last financial year.

June 15: You need to pay the advance tax i.e. 15% of the taxable income in case income exceeds Rs. 10,000 in a FY"

July July 31- Last date for filing of income tax return for FY 2018-19
August Herein you can look at other financial essentials such as having enough insurance, emergency corpus at hand, such that in time of crisis you do not liquidate your other investments
September September 15 You need to pay the advance tax i.e. 15% of the taxable income in case income exceeds Rs. 10,000 in a FY
October Half yearly review of your portfolio now needs to be done from your end.
November November 30: Last day to make claim towards foreign tax credit in lieu of taxes paid there while working. For making the claim , you need to submit form 67
December December 15: By this date, you need to deposit 75% of the taxable income
January Plan you budget for the new year, get all your documents ready to make declarations with the employer such as investments made, house rent receipts etc.
February Budget day
March

"March 15- fourth and final instalment of advance tax needs to be paid.

 

March 31- last date for the filing of revised return for the preceding financial year."
