Gold prices extended their upward momentum for the second straight session on Tuesday, July 21, pushing rates in Delhi higher as safe-haven demand remained firm amid persistent geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East. The yellow metal has gained a cumulative Rs 9,300 per 100 grams for 24 Karat gold (24K) over the past two days, supported by softer crude oil prices and renewed optimism over diplomatic efforts to ease tensions between the US and Iran.

Gold found additional support after crude oil prices retreated, although investor sentiment remained cautious as Yemen's Houthi rebels threatened a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia, raising fresh concerns over potential disruptions to global oil supplies. Market participants also continued to favour bullion as a hedge against geopolitical risks and broader market uncertainty.
