After ending the previous week on a strong note, Indian stock markets are entering the new trading week with improved momentum. Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty not only recovered the losses seen in the earlier week but also closed in positive territory, raising expectations that the ongoing rally could continue if earnings and global cues remain supportive.

Stock Market Outlook Next Week, July 20 to 27, 2026: Sensex, Nifty Weekly Prediction

While Friday's sharp rebound lifted investor confidence, market participants are now shifting their focus to a busy week filled with quarterly earnings, global developments and domestic economic indicators that could decide the next direction for equities.

The domestic equity market witnessed a healthy rebound during the week, with both Sensex and Nifty gaining around 0.5%. The Nifty also reclaimed the important 24,300 level, indicating improving market sentiment after a phase of consolidation.

Key Factors To Drive Stock Market

"Looking ahead, global developments are expected to play a crucial role in determining market direction. Investors will closely monitor geopolitical developments in the Middle East, as any escalation in tensions could trigger volatility in crude oil prices and dampen overall market sentiment," said Pravesh Gour, Senior Technical Analyst at Swastika Investmart Ltd.

"Additionally, movements in the US Dollar Index (DXY), US Treasury bond yields, FII and DII money flows, and key US macroeconomic data releases will remain important factors influencing global risk appetite and foreign investment flows into emerging markets, including India," added Expert Gour.

Q1 Results to Remain the Biggest Market Trigger

The June quarter earnings season is expected to dominate market sentiment between 20 and 24 July. Attention will shift to several heavyweight companies scheduled to announce their quarterly results during the week. Companies such as UltraTech Cement, Bajaj Auto, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Nestlé India, Infosys and Shriram Finance are set to report their numbers, which could trigger stock-specific as well as sector-wide movements.

Better-than-expected earnings could further strengthen market sentiment, while disappointing results may lead to profit booking in individual stocks.

Global Cues to Play a Crucial Role

Apart from earnings, investors will closely watch developments overseas. Any escalation in geopolitical tensions in the Middle East could push crude oil prices higher, adding pressure on inflation expectations and overall market sentiment. Investors will also monitor movements in the US Dollar Index (DXY), US Treasury yields and foreign institutional investment flows for fresh direction.

Key US economic data releases during the week may also influence global risk appetite, particularly for emerging markets like India.

Monsoon Progress to Stay on Investors' Radar

Market participants will continue to track the progress of the southwest monsoon, as rainfall plays a crucial role in supporting agricultural production, rural consumption and food inflation. Any signs of delayed or uneven rainfall could influence expectations regarding inflation and economic growth in the coming months.

Nifty Prediction Next Week, 20-24 July 2026: Can the Index Move Towards 24,600?

According to technical analysts, Nifty has given a strong breakout after moving above its recent consolidation range. The index has crossed the important resistance level of 24,250 and continues to trade comfortably above its 21-day and 55-day exponential moving averages (EMAs), indicating that the broader trend remains positive.

"As per the breakout projection, the index now has the potential to advance towards the 24,600 mark in the near term. On the downside, 24,000 and 23,800 remain key support levels. As long as Nifty sustains above these levels, the overall outlook remains positive, and a buy on dips strategy continues to be favoured," said Dr. Ravi Singh, Chief Research Officer from Master Capital Services Ltd.

The expert believes that the recent breakout has strengthened bullish momentum, making support levels around 24,000 crucial for sustaining the ongoing uptrend.

Bank Nifty Prediction for Next Week

Bank Nifty also ended the week on a strong footing, extending its gains and continuing to outperform the broader market. According to Dr. Ravi Singh, the banking index remains comfortably above its major moving averages, reflecting sustained buying interest. He added that the Relative Strength Index (RSI) stands at 58, suggesting there is still room for further upside.

Immediate support for Bank Nifty is placed near 58,000, while the major support zone lies between 57,400 and 57,500. On the upside, resistance levels are seen around 59,250 and 59,800. The expert continues to recommend a buy-on-dips strategy as long as the index holds above its key support levels.
