Shares of Larsen & Toubro Limited surged during Wednesday's intraday trading session, a day after the announcement of strong first quarter result for the financial year 2026-27. The civil construction company had reported a 14% jump in Q1 profit on strong order inflows.

Larsen & Toubro share price was trading 2.74% higher at Rs 3937 per share on BSE with a market capitalisation of Rs 5,41,989.15 crore at 12 pm. The stock had touched an intraday high mark of Rs 3,978.60 per share and an intraday low mark of Rs 3,895.00 per share.

L&T Q1 Result Review

The upbeat profit in the first quarter of financial year 2026-27 was driven by healthy order inflows, core E&C revenue growth, and multiple contracts win in the infrastructure segment,highlighted Motilal Oswal in its report released on Tuesday.

"Beat on inflows was driven mainly by multiple order wins in the infra segment across residential & commercial buildings and ferrous metal projects, and an ultra-mega win in the offshore wind business. NWC to revenue ratio improved 520bp YoY to 4.9%, whereas RoE (TTM) stood at 16.1%, which included a 100bp impact on labor code provisions in 3QFY26," noted the brokerage in its report.

L&T Q1 Share Price Recommendation

Motilal Oswal maintained a 'Buy' rating fro L&T stock with a revised target price of Rs 4,550 per share. "We marginally revise our estimates to bake in 1QFY27 performance and retain BUY on LT with an SoTP-based TP of INR4,550, valuing core business at 25x Sep'28E earnings and 25% holding company discount for subsidiaries."

The infrastructure major saw a 14% year-on-year jump in its consolidated net profit after tax (PAT) at Rs 4,123 crore for the June quarter of FY27. The company's net profit stood at Rs 3,617 crore in the year-ago period. L&T's consolidated net revenue stood at Rs 67,942 crore, which was 6.7% higher than Rs 63,678 crore reported in the year ago period.
