Eid-al-Fitr is a Muslim festival. The festival is celebrated with great pomp and enthusiasm by people all around the world. Muslims observe fast from early morning till sunset. They break the fast after sighting the moon during evening time post sunset. During this time Muslims perform formal prayers known as Salah five times per day. During Ramzan, there will be an extra Salah known as Tarawih during nighttime. In the evening after sighting the moon, Muslims will break their fast by eating dates along with water juice or buttermilk.

Apart from regular holidays, one regional bank holiday will be observed in Manipur in April 2024. The second week and the fourth week of Saturdays are declared as Bank Holidays. It is a Central government holiday. All the nationalized banks, and public and private sector banks remain closed on those two days across the country.

Thus, if banks in other states are open on a certain date in the month of April, it is not necessary that banks in Manipur will also remain open on that day. During these bank holidays in Manipur, the banks are closed. As per an understanding between the Indian Banks' Association and All India Bank Employees Association, all public sector banks in Manipur and other states of India are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.

In Manipur, bank holidays do not mean people will not have access to net banking facilities. Even when banks are closed people can conduct financial transactions via online mode.
