In April, the government of Uttarkhand declared numerous holidays for its citizens this year accounting to a total of 5 holidays excluding the four Sundays during the month. April 10th, on account of Eid-ul-Fitr; April 13th, the second week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday; April 14, on account of Dr Ambedkar Jayanti; April 17 for Ram Navami; and April 27, the fourth week of Saturday as Bank Holiday in Uttarkhand.

All the banks including ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce and Federal Bank will remain closed on all the bank holidays in Uttarkhand. Although the significant services like fund transfers, bill payments, registration, fixed deposit enquiry and other digital products are avilable online for customers during the holidays.
Eid-al-Fitr: Eid is a Muslim festival. It is celebrated with great pomp and splendour throughout the country. Ramadan is a festival that is celebrated for one month. The festival begins and ends with the sighting of the new moon. During this period people will perform prayers five times in a day. Muslims do not consume food from the time of sunrise to sunset. During the fasting period, they do not even swallow saliva.
Sri Rama Navami: Rama Navami is a Hindu festival. It is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Rama, believed to be the avatar of Vishnu. The festival celebrates the descent of Lord Vishnu as Rama, through his birth to King Dasharatha and Queen Kausalya in Ayodhya. It is a part of spring Navratri. Important celebrations on this day take place in Bhadrachalam. On this day all the banks in the state will remain closed.
