August 13, the second week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday; August 15, on account of Independence Day; August 19, on account of Janmashtami; August 27, the fourth week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday; August 31, on account of Raksha Bandhan.

All the banks in Bihar will remain closed on the above mentioned days. The banks will not perform the usual functioning on these days. All the banks including IndusInd Bank, Bandhan Bank, DCB Bank, and Karur Vysya Bank will remain closed on the bank holidays.
Independence Day: Independence Day is a national festival. The day is declared a national holiday annually. On this day, India secured independence from the colonial British rule which ruled for over 200 years. On this day people in India remember the freedom fighters who fought valiantly by risking their lives to free India from British rule. People in India pay homage to the freedom fighters. All the major government buildings will be illuminated with colourful lights and the tricolour flag will be hoisted in all the government buildings. People conduct various cultural festivals which also include special contests, programmes and articles to promote the special occasion.
