In August, the Gujarat government announced holidays on the following days. August 12, the second week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday; August 15, on account of Independence Day; August 16, on account of Parsi New Year; August 26, the fourth week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday.

All the banks in Gujarat will remain closed on the above-mentioned days. The banks will not perform the usual functioning these days. All the banks including Citi Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, and ICICI Bank will remain closed during the bank holidays.
Parsi New Year: Parsi New Year is a Parsi festival. It is celebrated by people who follow Zoroastrianism. The festival is celebrated with great pomp and zeal. Homes will be cleaned on the eve of the festival and it will be decorated with flowers and chalk decorations. People of the Parsi community buy and wear new clothes on this day. They visit the Fire temple to pay their respects and offer prayers as per the customs. Friends and relatives visit each other and they will be welcomed by sprinkling rose water. Special delicacies will be prepared for the day of Navroz which also includes Moong dal, pulao, farcha, Patra ni Macchi, dhansak, sweet sev, ravo and so on.
