In August, the Jharkhand government announced holidays on the following days. August 12, the second week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday; August 15, on account of Independence Day; on August 26, the fourth week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday.

All the banks in Jharkhand will remain closed on the above-mentioned days. The banks will not perform the usual functioning these days. All the banks including Syndicate Bank, ICICI Bank, Punjab and Sind Bank, and UCO Bank will remain closed during the bank holidays.
Independence Day: India got its independence from British rule on August 15, 1947. It is the National Day of India and is celebrated as a national festival across the country. It is also known as I-day. On this day, the Prime Minister of India will hoist the national flag at Red Fort situated in New Delhi before addressing the nation from its rampant. The hoisting of the national flag indicates the rise of a new nation, free from foreign colonial rule/domination.
