Bank Holidays in Punjab during August

All the banks in Punjab will remain closed on the above-mentioned days. The banks will not perform the usual functioning on these days. All the banks including Canara Bank, Vijaya Bank, Syndicate Bank, and State Bank of India will remain closed on the bank holidays.

Independence Day holds immense historical importance, marking the end of British rule in 1947 and the establishment of an independent Indian nation. It also symbolizes the partition of the subcontinent into India and Pakistan, a momentous event etched in history.

Krishna Janmashtami, alternatively referred to as Krishnashtami, Janmashtami, or Gokulashtami, is an annual Hindu festival commemorating the birth of Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu. In specific Hindu scriptures, including the Gita Govinda, Krishna is recognized as the supreme God and the origin of all avatars.

Independence Day: Independence Day is a national holiday. On this day, India attained freedom from the monopoly of British rule, after long years of slavery. The day has been declared a gazetted holiday across India in order to independently commemorate the independence of the country from British rule. The day is dedicated to paying homage to the leaders and those who fought for India’s freedom in the past. On this day, major government buildings will be illuminated with strings of lights and the tricolour flag will flutter across the country. The President of India will deliver the “Address to the Nation” on the eve of Independence Day. India’s Prime Minister will unfurl the “Tricolor Flag” and delivers the message at the historical Red Fort in Delhi.
