Contrary to July, the Tripura government has announced four holidays in August 2024 on the following days. August 10th, the second week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday; August 15th, on account of Independence Day; August 24th on account of the fourth week of Saturday as Bank Holiday and August 26th on account of Janmasthami as public and bank holidays in Tripura for 2024.

All the banks in Tripura will remain closed on the above-mentioned days. The banks will not perform the usual functioning these days. All the banks including UCO Bank, Syndicate Bank, Dena Bank, and IDBI Bank will remain closed during the bank holidays in Tripura.
Independence Day: Independence day is celebrated annually. It is a national holiday in India. The day commemorates the nation’s independence from the monopoly rule of the British in India. After decades of struggle by the freedom fighters, India finally attained independence during Lord Mountbatten’s governance. On this day flag hoisting ceremonies and several cultural programmes will be held in both government and non-governmental institutions throughout the country. National flags of different sizes are used to symbolize dedication to the country.
Janmashtami: It is a Hindu festival. The festival is celebrated to mark the birth of Krishna, the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu. It is observed on the eighth day of the Krishna Paksha during the Hindu month of Shraavana. Temples witness extravagant decorations on this occasion. Raslila will be performed to recreate the incidents of the life of Krishna and Radha. Devotional songs of Lord Krishna and dance mark the celebration. Special delicacies will be prepared on this day to mark the occasion.
