Independence Day: Independence day is celebrated annually. It is a national holiday in India. The day commemorates the nation’s independence from the monopoly rule of the British in India. After decades of struggle by the freedom fighters, India finally attained independence during Lord Mountbatten’s governance. On this day flag hoisting ceremonies and several cultural programmes will be held in both government and non-governmental institutions throughout the country. National flags of different sizes are used to symbolize dedication to the country.
