In December, the Andhra Pradesh government announced holidays on the following days. December 9, the second week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday; December 23, the fourth week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday and December 25, on account of Christmas.

All the banks in Andhra Pradesh will remain closed on the above-mentioned days. The banks will not perform the usual functioning on these days. All the banks including Punjab & Sind Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank and Corporation Bank will remain closed on the bank holidays.
Christmas: It is a Christian festival. It is an annual festival held to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. It is a public holiday. On the eve of Christmas, Midnight mass will be held in several churches across the city and people from many walks of life will attend the Midnight Mass. Churches will be decorated and carol singing begins during the night time followed by the mass. Churches make the ‘Christmas Crib’ which acts as a representation of the birth of Jesus Christ. People offer gifts to their family members to mark the occasion. Special mouth-watering delicious food like Suji ladoo, Boondi Ladoo, Cakes, Pastries, Plum Cakes, Chicken Biryani, Fish Curry, Cookies and so on will be prepared to mark the occasion.
