In December, the Chhattisgarh government has announced holidays on the following days. December 14, the second week of Saturday as Bank Holiday; December 25, on account of Christmas and December 28, the fourth week of Saturday as Bank Holiday.

All the banks in Chhattisgarh will remain closed on the above mentioned days.
The banks will not perform the usual functioning on these days. All the banks including Syndicate Bank, Deutsche Bank, American Express Bank and RBL Bank will remain closed on the bank holidays.
Christmas: It is a Christian Festival. The festival is celebrated in a grand manner across the globe. It is declared as a public holiday in India. The term Christmas consists of two words, namely Christ and Mass which stands for the mass celebration of Jesus Christ. It is an annual festival held to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. On the eve of Christmas, Midnight mass will be held in several churches including Kunkuri Catholic Church, Bethel Church, Siyon Mennonite Church, Methodist Church, Pentecostal Church, St Vincent Palloti Church across the city and people from many walks of life attend the Midnight Mass. Churches make the ‘Christmas Crib’ which acts as a representation of the birth of Jesus Christ.
The special spread of food including Muthia, Christmas Cake, Jujups, Newries, Kulkuls, Snowballs, Roast Turkey, Chicken / Mutton Biryani, Milk Cream, Rose de coque, Marzipan, Date Rolls, Chocolate Walnut Fudge and so on will be prepared.
