Bank Holidays in Jharkhand during December

All the banks in Jharkhand will remain closed on the above-mentioned days. The banks will not perform the usual functioning on these days. All the banks including Union Bank of India, Karur Vysya Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and United Bank of India will remain closed on the bank holidays.

Christmas: It is a Christian festival. The day commemorates the birth of the Lord Jesus who is considered as the Son of the Lord and the one who started Christianity. Special prayers will be organized on the eve of Christmas during the midnight time to mark the occasion of the birth of Jesus. People throng to churches to attend the midnight mass session and special prayer sessions which will be held in Saint Paul Church, GEL Church, and Saint Maria Mahagirajaghar Church located in the state.

The churches and homes will be decorated beautifully with colourful lights and bright stars. People decorate the Christmas Tree and place gifts below it which will be exchanged with the family members in the evening. Delicious food including Arsa, Christmas Cakes, Puddings, Rose Cookies, Roast Turkey, Plum Cake and other items will be prepared to celebrate the occasion.
