Bank Holidays in Madhya Pradesh during December

In December, except for regular holidays, banks will function as normal days in the state. One should always keep track of the bank holiday calendar 2024 so that your financial tasks are completed on time.

All the banks including ICICI Bank, DCB Bank, Federal Bank and Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Limited will remain closed on bank holidays in Madhya Pradesh.

The state of Madhya Pradesh is located right in the middle of the country, which is why it is called "Madhya", which means central. It is the second-largest state in India, in terms of land area. The state is of great historical importance as it was the seat for the Mauryas, Guptas, and a host of other Rajput kings. On a bank holiday in Madhya Pradesh, you can visit various tourist hotspots like the popular Kanha National Park, Van Vihar National Park, Bandhavgarh National Park, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior, and Ujjain. Hindi is the official language of the state, though there is a significant number of people who also speak Marathi.

All the banks in Madhya Pradesh will remain closed on the above-mentioned days. The banks will not perform the usual functioning on these days. All the banks including Syndicate Bank, HSBC Bank, HDFC Bank and RBL Bank will remain closed on the bank holidays.

In the month of December, banks will remain closed for seven days. The days when banks will remain closed in Madhya Pradesh include:

December 1 -  Sunday

December  14 - Saturday

December 15- Sunday

December  22 - Sunday

December 25- Christmas

December 28- Saturday

December  29 - Sunday

Apart from regional holidays, Madhya Pradesh has regional holidays.

Thus, if banks in other states are open on a certain date it is not necessary that banks in Madhya Pradesh will also remain open on that day. During these bank holidays in Madhya Pradesh, the banks are closed. As per an understanding between the Indian Banks' Association and All India Bank Employees Association, all public sector banks in Madhya Pradesh and other states of India are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.

Christmas: It is a Christian festival. The day marks the birth of Lord Jesus Christ, who is the founder of Christianity. Jesus was born in Bethlehem to Mary and Joseph. He is considered as the Son of God. To celebrate his birth on an annual basis Christians celebrate Christmas in a grand manner. The festival will be observed over two days starting with Christmas Eve when in people will visit churches to attend mass, special prayer sessions and carol singing. Christmas Crib will be decorated in all the churches and it resembles the birth of Infant Jesus. People throng the churches to have a glimpse of the Infant Jesus and to seek his blessings. Christmas trees will be decorated and kept outside the house and churches to mark the occasion. Children will be eagerly waiting for the arrival of this festival as they get to munch on some of the delicious desserts apart from the lavish spread of food which includes roast turkey, chicken biryani, rose cookies, pastries, plum cakes and so on will be prepared.
