In December, the Telangana government have proudly announced some four holidays on the following days for the residents of the state. December 14th, the second week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday; December 25, on account of Christmas and December 28th, the fourth week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday in Telangana.

Bank Holidays in Telangana during December

All the banks in Telangana will remain closed on the above-mentioned days. The banks will not perform the usual functioning on these days. All the banks including Kotak Mahindra Bank, Federal Bank, Canara Bank and Union Bank of India will remain closed on the bank holidays.

Christmas: It is a Christian festival. It is celebrated on an annual basis with great enthusiasm and fervour by the people who follow Christianity. The day marks the birth of Jesus Christ who is considered the founder of Christianity in Bethlehem. Many churches in the city including Wesley Church and St Baptist Church will be decorated to mark the festivities. People throng the places of worship on Christmas Eve and participate in special prayer sessions, carol singing, and mass sessions. People prepare special delicacies like cakes, kulkuls, candies, peanut butter combo, cookies, and plum pudding. Special gifts will be shared with near and dear ones. Poor and needy people will be donated food, clothes, and gifts to mark the occasion.
