In December, the Tripura government have only announced three holidays on the following days for the residents of the state. December 14th, the second week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday; December 25, on account of Christmas and December 28th, the fourth week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday in Tripura.

All the banks in Tripura will remain closed on the above-mentioned days. The banks will not perform the usual functioning on these days. All the banks including Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bandhan Bank, Karnataka Bank and Standard Chartered Bank will remain closed on the public and bank holidays of Tripura during December 2024.
Christmas: It is a Christian festival. The day marks the birth of Jesus Christ, who is considered the founder of Christianity. He was born in Bethlehem city, Jerusalem to Joseph and Mary. Special decorations will be made in homes and churches to mark the occasion. People attend midnight mass on Christmas Eve, a day prior to the birth of Christ. Special prayers will be held followed by carol singing on Christmas Eve and it will be followed by mass. Children decorate Christmas Tree with various decorative items to mark the occasion and several gifts will be placed below the tree and the same will be exchanged in the evening with family members and friends. Several delicacies like Gujia, Marzipan Shapes, Kulkuls, Guava Cheese, Chocolate Walnut Fudge, Coconut Barfi, Bebinca and so on will be prepared for the occasion. It is advisable to plan the trips to visit Tripura especially during the year end to make the most of the bank holidays in Tripura in 2024.
