In December, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced holidays on the following days. December 12, the second week of Saturday as Bank Holiday; December 25, on account of Christmas and December 26, the fourth week of Saturday as Bank Holiday.

All the banks in Uttar Pradesh will remain closed on the above mentioned days.
The banks will not perform the usual functioning on these days. All the banks including Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bandhan Bank, Karnataka Bank and Standard Chartered Bank will remain closed on the bank holidays.
Christmas: It is a Christian festival. The day marks the birth of Jesus Christ, who is considered the founder of Christianity. He was born in the Bethlehem city, Jerusalem to Joseph and Mary. Special decorations will be made in homes and churches to mark the occasion. People attend midnight mass on Christmas Eve, a day prior to the birth of Christ. Special prayers will be held followed by carol singing on the Christmas Eve and it will be followed by mass. Children decorate Christmas Tree with various decorative items to mark the occasion and several gifts will be placed below the tree and the same will be exchanged in the evening with family members and friends. Several delicacies like Gujia, Marzipan Shapes, Kulkuls, Guava Cheese, Chocolate Walnut Fudge, Coconut Barfi, Bebinca and so on will be prepared for the occasion.
